Crystal Veliz, 29, of Bainbridge was killed in in a two-car accident that occurred Thursday morning around 7:44 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 27 and Bethel Road according to Georgia State Patrol.

According to a GSP, Veliz was driving a Chrysler Pacifica east on Bethel Road and was stopped at the intersection. She then reportedly pulled out in front of a Chevy Colorado, driven by Perry Birdsong, 18, that was traveling south on Hwy. 27. The Colorado struck the Pacifica in the left side.

Veliz reportedly died at the scene and a one-year child that was in the car with her was transported to the hospital. A juvenile male passenger in the truck was reportedly transported to the hospital with a lower body injury. Birdsong did not suffer injuries and was not taken to a hospital.

According to GSP Post Commander Jeremy Roberts, no charges are pending at this time.
