Clara Inez Moore was born September 10, 1935, in Recovery, Ga., the daughter of Clarence Lafayette Moore and Vera Inez Poston Moore. She was a graduate of Ware County High School in Waycross, Ga.. Clara married the love of her life, Noah Cecil Spooner, in June of 1953. She worked as a pharmacy assistant for over 23 years at Seminole Hartzog Pharmacy in Seminole County. Clara moved to Dothan in 2000 and joined Bethel Baptist Church.
Clara has been described as prissy, but is best known for her sassy, bossy demeanor. She was always dressed to the nines, which included a favorite purse from her collection. Being quite the perfectionist, her yard was always picture perfect with not a leaf on the ground. If a tree managed to have a crooked limb, well, the tree had to go and would be replaced immediately. Clara was a hard worker and expected others to work hard as well. She was an excellent cook and didn’t mind rewarding your hard work with a hefty meal. Clara loved her family.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Noah Cecil Spooner; her children, Jody Spooner and his wife, Tammy of Dothan, and Kathy Poole and her husband, Phillip of Lake Seminole, Ga.; her grandchildren, Seth Spooner and his wife, Eva, Judson Spooner, Casey Cater and Kayla, Tracey Cater and his wife, Gentry; her great-grandchildren, Blakeleigh Cater and Sanders Spooner; her brothers, Howard Moore and his wife, Peggy, Billy Moore and his wife, Janice, all of Lake Park, Ga., Harry Moore and his wife, Dorris, of Pinnacle, NC; and her sister-in-law, Mary Moore.
