Seminole County community leaders are excited about this new addition and the opportunities Day will bring to the County by managing the Center.

“I am very pleased that Molly Day has been selected as the site manager of the Bainbridge State College facility here in Donalsonville,” said Dan Ponder, Mayor of Donalsonville. “She has the qualifications to help take Donalsonville site to the next level.  The new BSC facility brings the potential for some great things to happen with our young people and our community.  The addition of Molly Day as manager should help us maximize the opportunities this great resource is bringing to our community.”

Bill Burke of Burke, Worsham & Harrell, LLC, added, “Our County has long needed someone with Molly’s energy to be the face of the college as we try to promote the educational opportunities our area.  The Donalsonville site has such great potential to be our economic catalyst which will give our young people a reason to stay in Seminole County.”

Since 2012, Day has been employed as the Instructional Resources Coordinator at Bainbridge State College. She has also taught Allied Health and First Year Experience (FYE) classes.

In 2012, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Workforce Development and Education from Valdosta State University; and then a Master’s Degree in Adult Education from the University of Georgia. Currently, she is working on a doctorate in Organizational Leadership at Valdosta State University. She is estimated to complete the degree Spring 2018.

With Day’s plan for her dissertation, which will cover the Move On When Ready (MOWR) program and college transition and preparedness of students who complete the program, she is ready to hit the ground running as the Interim Manager of the Donalsonville Education Center.

She has already set goals for the site and eager to get started.

“My initial goals for the site are to meet with potential students, including local high school students and their parents, as well as community members to get a better understanding of the needs of the community and focus on how Bainbridge State can fill those needs,” she shared. “For the future, I expect a gradual, progressive, growth of our presence in the community which will create a lasting impact for the future of Seminole County.  I look forward to working with the constituents in the Seminole County area to identify collaborative opportunities.  We have a remarkable facility in Donalsonville and I am thrilled to work with area students and stakeholders to maximize its potential.”

During the spring semester, Day will be located at Donalsonville Education Center from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., on Mondays and Wednesdays.
