She was a faithful member of Salem M.B. Church, where she served as Church Mother, as well as a member of the Mission and Culinary Ministry. Mother Whigham, “MeMa”, was loved by all who knew her. She never met a stranger and was full of wisdom that she didnt mind sharing over a few of her teacakes. She spent her time reading her Bible daily, fishing—when she felt up to it—and making quilts for her family. She loved life and lived it to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, four children, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five sisters and five brothers.

Services were held December 9, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Bainbridge. Final arrangements were entrusted to Bruton Mortuary.
