The BHS wrestling team traveled to Tallahassee to compete in the Timberwolf team dual at Lawton Chiles High School on Saturday. The Bearcats finished in fourth place in the tournament among teams from Gainesville, Tallahassee, Wakulla, Lake City and Georgia.
“We had several matches that could have went in our favor, but we are still real young and the guys are still learning,” head coach Chad Smith said.
The Bearcats were once again led by the youngest members of the team who are coming along quickly in their first taste of high school wrestling.
Ninth grader Arkeavious Marshall went 2-2 in the 160-pound weight class and his fellow freshman, Thomas Davis, went 2-2 at 126-pound weight class. Randy Fillingame went 2-2 at 170 pounds and Tre’ Storey went 2-2 at 220 pounds.
“The youngsters did well yet again,” Smith said. “We are looking to improve a lot over the holidays and return to action in January against TCC.”
