Mr. Curtis Joel Curry, age 79, was born to Joel Peacock Curry and Laura Fairbanks Curry in Whigham, Georgia, on September 23, 1937, and passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Florida.

 He was inducted into the United States Navy in 1955, serving on the Bon Homme Richard as an electrician during his tour.

 Curtis married the love of his life, Lois J. Jessen Curry, who preceded him in death after 46 years of marriage.  He was a loving husband, father and great provider for his family.  They shared great love and enjoyed fishing, cooking and hosting gatherings with family and friends.  

 Mr. Curry retired as a Master Journeyman Electrician and member of IBEW Local 134. His knowledge and skills in construction extended to most trades.  He enjoyed his time as a member of the Orion Masonic Lodge 109 and had a passion and talent for gardening but his main legacy was being a rock for the Curry family.

 Curtis Joel Curry is survived by his children, Debbi Humbel and husband, Scot of Seminole, Florida; Curtis Curry, Jr. and wife, Mary of Tampa, Florida; Craig Curry and wife, Page of Tallahassee, Florida; and David Curry and wife, Christy of Bainbridge; his brother, Harmon Hugh Curry and wife, Virginia; grandchildren, Curtis J. Curry, III, Megan Curry, Craig Curry, Jr., Cameron Curry, Caroline Curry, Jordan Rocamora, Jonah Humbel, Nick Bachani, Lilyan Tomek, and Addyson Tomek; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers and sisters.

 The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday evening, December 15th, at Climax Baptist Church in Climax, Georgia.  A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, December 17th, 11 a.m., at Climax Baptist Church.The Rev. Steve Brooks will officiate.
