Lane closure scheduled for Flint River bridge rehabilitation

Beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, the South bound lanes will be closed on US 27/State Route 1. The South bound bridge spanning over the Flint River will be under rehabilitation repair. The closure will begin at the SR38 offramp and extend to the Shotwell Street off ramp. The lanes are expected to reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2016.

A detour with a temporary traffic signal and directional signs will be put in place to accommodate traffic flow. The n01thbound lanes will remain open while rehabilitation work is being pe1formed on the southbound bridge.
This project consists of bridge rehabilitation. After SRl /SR 38 has been closed, contractors will be working on the bridge deck joint and underneath side of the bridge.

As in any work zone, motorists are reminded to pay special attention to traffic control devices, signs and posted speed limits to ensure safe passage though the work zone for the workers present and the motorists traveling through.
