Sam McRae has big game to lead GCA to victory

The Grace Christian Academy basketball team defeated Emmanuel Christian Academy 41-26 in Dothan on Friday to improve their record to 3-1 on the season. The Cougars were lead by Sam McRae, who topped 20 points for the third time in four games with 22 points in the win. He also led the team with 13 rebounds, seven steals and a blocked shot.
“We played defense really well and also rebounded very well,” Coach Mallory McRae said. “I felt on offense we took too many poor shots. Hopefully, in the coming games, we can take better shots and shoot a higher percentage.”
Caleb Carr and Jared Duke tied for second on the team with five points. Carr also had three rebounds and a block. Duke had two rebounds and two steals.
“The guys had another good win today,” McRae said. “We were able to get everyone in the game.”
Clay Wells and Nate Walton each had four points in the win and Branch Austinson has one. Walton also had four steals and two rebounds and Wells had one steal and two rebounds. Austinson had three rebounds Jeb Smith had two.
The Cougars hosted Aucilla Christian on Tuesday and travel to Highland Christian in Valdosta on Thursday.
