John C. “Tuggie” Stegall

Mr. John C.”Tuggie” Stegall, age 90, of Donalsonville, Ga., passed away Tuesday evening, Nov. 8, 2016, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala..

Funeral services for Mr. Stegall will be held on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, with Rev. Granton Helms officiating. Interment will follow in Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Paul Smith, Brenton Smith, Jonathan Stegall, Thom Barrineau, Cole Barrineau, Camden Barrineau, and David Lizarralde serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home at 2 p.m..

Mr. Stegall was born in Donalsonville on Feb. 27, 1926, to Elzie James Stegall and Lizzie McGee Stegall. He served his country in the United States Army and worked as a carpenter with Anderson Construction. Mr. Stegall was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Ramona Stegall of Donalsonville; his children, JoAnne Sullivan and her husband Harry of Camilla, Ga., Gail Smith and her husband Ronnie of Bainbridge, Ga., Dale Stegall and his wife Paula of Turbeville, SC, Brenda Stein and her husband John of Blakely, Ga., and Shane Stegall and his wife Donna of Bainbridge. Mr. Stegall is also survived by his grandchildren, Paul Smith and his wife Belinda, Misty Lizarralde and her husband David, Ben Joiner and his wife Nikki, Kelli Barrineau and her husband Thom, Jonathan Stegall and his wife Dee, Courtney Stegall, Madison Stegall, Paige Stegall, McKenna Stegall, and John-Thomas Stegall; as well as his great-grandchildren, Brenton Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Cole Barrineau, Camden Barrineau, Holden Stegall, Rutlee Stegall, Ethan Godby, Julya Lizarralde, Olivia Joiner, Morgan Joiner, Rowan Joiner, Brailyn Cross, and Sawyer Rawlings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elzie James Stegall and Lizzie McGee Stegall; and three brothers, Virgil Stegall, Marvin Stegall, and Elzie V. “Monk” Stegall.
