Simpson hired as reporter at ‘The Post-Searchlight’

John Simpson has been named a reporter for The Post-Searchlight, Bainbridge Living magazine, Rifle and Rod magazine and the publications’ associated websites. He began work on Wednesday.

Simpson, 22, comes to Bainbridge from Birmingham, Alabama.

Simpson grew up in Vestavia Hills, a small town that sits on the southern edge of Birmingham. He graduated from Vestavia Hills High School in May 2012. He then attended the University of Alabama, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and a minor in American Studies in August 2016.

While at Alabama, he served as a digital content producer for Dateline Alabama, a student-run online news source.

He also was involved in many extracurricular activities and one honor society.

“The Post-Searchlight is a very exciting opportunity,” Simpson said. “I can’t wait to get to work and getting to know the people around town and start my career.”
