Aubrey Ramer, 89, of Attapulgus, Ga., passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016, in Blakely, Ga.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Attapulgus Cemetery with Rev. David Grubbs officiating.

Aubrey Ramer was born April 23, 1927, in Stapleton, Ala., the son of James Ramer and Leona Bryars Ramer. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Aubrey married Annie Bell Foster In December of 1944. He retired after years with Englehard Minerals and Chemicals and Flordin as a heavy equipment operator. Aubrey was a member of Attapulgus Baptist Church.
Aubrey was a jokester and great storyteller. One story told often about him was that he was a magnet for local children, always giving free rides in the mail basket on his bicycle. He loved the outdoors and everything about it from hunting to gardening. He even enjoyed the animals, especially horses, cows, hogs and chickens. Aubrey always had a story on his tongue and music in his heart.
Survivors include his children, William “Billy” Ramer of Bay Minette, Ala., James Edward Ramer and his wife, Sheila, of Faceville, Ga., Glenn Harrell Ramer and his wife, Nora, of Recovery, Ga., Robin Ramer and his wife, Deana, of Climax, Ga., and Lisa A. Dodson and Gene Hill of Brinson, Ga.; his siblings, Robert Ramer, Arthur Ramer, Norman Ramer, Vertis Davidson, Eula Mae Lynn, Vernon Ramer, and Willie Ramer; his twelve grandchildren and his fifteen great-grandchildren. Aubrey was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Bell Ramer; his daughter, Wanda Lee Dollar; and his brothers, Otis Ramer and Nick Ramer.
