Carolyn Bennett Hilton, 75, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016.

The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016, at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Burrell officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with John Bennett, Lee Boyett, Jeb Bennett, Morris Nichols, and Paul Bennett serving as active pallbearers.

Carolyn Lanette Bennett was born June 10, 1941, in Bainbridge, the daughter of Charles Jefferson Bennett and Corene Barbara King Bennett. She was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School and worked as a department manager for JC Penney in Tallahassee for many years. Carolyn was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Carolyn enjoyed singing gospel music and cooking. She served faithfully with the church family she dearly loved and unselfishly shared her gifts of singing and cooking at any opportunity. She will be remembered for her Dolly Parton act performed with the Service Club.

Survivors include her husband, James F. “Jimmy” Hilton of Bainbridge; her brother, Charles Bennett also of Bainbridge; and her grandchildren, Bennett James Hilton, Mahri Lynn Hilton, and Jamie Miller. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Doyle Hilton.
