Rob Starner, new head of school at Grace Christian Academy, told the Bainbridge Lions Club Wednesday that the school held a fundraising event Tuesday night at Bainbridge College’s Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center for the renovation of the school’s Perry Memorial Gymnasium, which has structural problems, and the building of a school events center.

“The events center will be a major addition to our campus,” Starner said. “We will be able to have numerous enriching programs there for our students.”

Last season, GCA had to hold their Christian School Region Tournament at Bainbridge State College’s activities center because of the structural problems at Grace’s Perry Memorial Gymnasium.

“Our new gymnasium will be something our students, faculty, families, fans and supporters can be proud of just as our current Perry Memorial Gymnasium has always been,” Starner said.

Also at Wednesday’s meeting, Lion Ken Markum inducted three new Lions members Jason Rubenbauer, Edward Seabrooks and David A. Diaz into the club.
