Wednesday, Bainbridge beat Washington Middle School (Cairo) 14-0 in the seventh grade SWGA Championship, finishing 7-0 on the season.

The seventh grade team has won the championship four out of the last five years, and this is the team’s third undefeated season in the last five years.

Wednesday, the Bearcats got on the board first when quarterback Daylon Bouie blasted 14-yards into the end zone, but failed on a 2-point conversion run by Zion Bouie. Bainbridge lead 6-0 with 6:35 left in the first quarter.

The final touchdown of the game was scored again by Bouie with 7:02 left in the second quarter on a big 46-yard run. Braxton Johnson caught a pass from Bouie for the 2-point conversion and Bainbridge lead 14-0, holding the lead for the rest of the game.

This season, Bainbridge’s defense only gave up two touchdowns and had five consecutive shutouts.
