Middle school cross-country ends season

The Bainbridge Middle School cross-country teams ended their season on a high note Tuesday at the Southwest Georgia Region Race in Blakely. Both the Lady Cat and Bearcat teams claimed second place, with impressive performances from all runners in the 2.5K races.

Lady Cat runner Viviana Schuyler came in first place overall in the girls race with a quick time of 13:52.758. Coming in second overall was another Lady Cat, Emma Briggs, with a time of 14:22.348.

Ann Marie Hall came in with a time of 16:02.623, Nyla Dumas crossed the finish line at 16:45.702 and Rose Middleton closed the Lady Cats out with a time of 19:19.906.

The Bearcats were led by Aiden Matthews, who came in fourth place overall with a time of 12:20.307. Ashton Matthews was 11 second behind him with a time of 12:31.640 and a fifth place finish overall. Landon Watts grabbed sixth place with a time of 13:21.839.

Titus Porter ran the course with a time of 13:58.597, Connor Poitevint finished at 14:07.729, Hunter Matthews clocked in at 14:38.752.

Jared Davis finished off Bainbridge’s team effort with a time of 14:36.361.

“It has been very rewarding to see the runners grow each week,” assistant coach Lisa Enfinger said. “It takes a lot of dedication to progress each week through the season. These runners worked hard this season and they all made great strides as runners this year.”

The Bainbridge High School cross-country teams will run in Tifton next week.
