The seventh grade Bearcat football team wrapped up an undefeated regular season with a 26-0 victory over Washington Middle School from Cairo.

The two teams traded three and outs for most of the first half as both offenses struggled to gain traction. The Bearcats scored  for the first time with 5:28 remaining in the second quarter on Daylon Bouie’s one-yard touchdown run.

They added a second score with 1:10 left in the first half following an interception on defense. Braxton Johnson scored the touchdown for the Bearcats when he took a wide receiver reverse from the right side and easily walked into the end zone near the left pylon.

The defenses continued to battle throughout the third quarter until Zion Bouie broke free for a 19-yard touchdown with 46-second remaining in the quarter. The score gave the Bearcats an 18-0 lead entering the fourth.

With 3:44 left in the game Zion found a hole for his longest run of the game when he burst free for a 51-yard touchdown run. The Bearcats will compete in the seventh grade championship game on Oct. 12.
