Lady Cats get back on track with win over Warner Robbins

The Bainbridge High softball team snapped its four-game losing streak with an 11-1 victory over Warner Robbins Friday evening. Abigail Gardner picked up the win for the Lady Cats (6-6). She pitched a complete game allowing one run one four hits while striking out one.
Bainbridge took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. They then blew the game open scoring six runs in the bottom of the second. Ty Grant reached base after the Warner Robins catcher dropped the third strike.
She then advanced to third on a throwing error following a bunt attempt that also allowed Haley Thompson to reach first base safely. Thompson stole second and Desirae Beachem was hit by a pinch to load the bases with only one out in the inning.
McKynleigh Harrell drove in the first two runs of the inning when the center fielder committed an error on her it to center.
After the Lady Cats loaded the bases for the second time in the inning, Tori Sprenkle sent a line drive into right field for a bases clearing triple and a 6-0 lead.
The Lady Cats added one more run in the inning when Sprenkle scored from third on a passed ball.
Warner Robbins brought a run across in the top of the third, but the Lady Cats slammed the door on any hopes for a comeback with four runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Gardner added two RBIs at the plate to go a long with her dominant game in the circle when she singled to center field.
The Lady Cats scored two more runs in the inning on a double to left field by Makayla Hamilton.
The game was called after the fifth inning due to the mercy rule.
Bainbridge returns to the field on Wednesday when they travel to Seminole County.
