St. John’s gearing up for Fall Card party and style show

Along with the celebration of Labor Day and the start of school, another sure sign of fall is the approach of the St. John’s Episcopal Women’s Game and Card Party.

Held each September since 2011, those who attend can play their favorite card or board game while enjoying the famous Episcopal Chicken salad luncheon. At noon they are shown the latest in men and women fall fashions from Belk Department Store.

It all takes place at 516 East Broughton Street on Thursday, September 15, beginning at 10 a.m. and lasts until 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person and reservations are required Call 229-246-5228 for tickets.

According to Juliet Richards, chairperson, all card party proceeds go to local community outreach programs, including the women’s shelter, Humane Society shelter, the backpack program and helping foster children at Christmas.

Richards said there are several door prizes and a large raffle item.
