Sara Adrianne Rice, 73, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016.

The graveside funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. Garrett Rice, Matt Greene, Rock Holt, Spencer Rice, Dustin Strickland, and Preston Strickland servimg as active pallbearers. The family received friends immediately following the service.

Sara Adrianne Cheek was born April 26, 1943 in Valdosta, Ga., the daughter of William Anthony Cheek and Dorothy Adrianne Dusenbury Cheek. Adrianne married Larry Joe Rice in 1961. She was formerly of Moultrie but spent the last 51 years in Bainbridge. Adrianne was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

Adrianne was a dedicated Christian and loved her family, which included her church family and friends according to her definition of “family”. Her love for children was evident at the ball field. She cheered for hers, yours and mine. Her favorite sports were baseball, football, and racing. Adrianne liked to relax by casting a line at her favorite fishing hole.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Larry Rice; her children, Keith Rice and his wife, Renee, of Blakely, Ga., Mike Rice and his wife, Karen, of Bainbridge, Todd Rice and Pam Rice, also of Bainbridge; her sisters, Cornelia Monk and Dorothy Pearce; her grandchildren, Garrett Rice and his wife, Charlotte, of Bogart, Ga., Mindy Greene and her husband, Matt, of Boston, Ga., Kelsey Holt and her husband, Rock, of Colquitt, Ga., Spencer Rice of Roswell, Ga., Dustin Strickland of Tallahassee, Fla., Preston Strickland of Attapulgus, Ga., and Kris Phillips of Dothan, Ala.; and her great-grandchildren, Brantley Rice, Brayden Greene, Everly Greene, Resse Holt, Jayden Phillips, and Jacie Thompson. Adrianne was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Lauren Phillips.
