Seventh grade Bearcats get their first taste of middle school football

The Bainbridge seventh grade football team put together an impressive win Wednesday against McIntyre Park, stomping the Bulldogs 36-6 in Thomasville.
The Bearcats scored 36 unanswered points on their way to the first win of the season.
Bainbridge wide receiver Braxton Johnson caught a 34-yard pass from quarterback Deyon Bouie in the first quarter to make the score 6-0. Bouie’s run for a 2-point conversion failed.
The second quarter was huge for the Bearcats as they drove the score up 28-0. Bouie had back-to-back touchdown runs, one for 73 yards and another 55 yards. The 2-point conversion on the first touchdown was completed by Zion Bouie, but the second by quarterback Mason Ard failed.
Bainbridge’s third score in the second quarter came when wide receiver Trey Colbert caught a 62-yard touchdown pass. The 2-point conversion was scored on the ground by Ard.
The Bearcats’ last score came in the third quarter on an 18-yard run from Bouie. The 2-point conversion was scored on a pass from Bouie to Johnson.
The Bulldogs lone score came with less than three minutes left in the game on a 29-yard run from the quarterback.
