Eighth Grade Bearcats dominate in first game

The Bainbridge eighth grade team shutout McIntyre Park (Thomasville) Thursday 44-0 at Centennial Field, carried to the win by rushers Rashod Broadnax and Caleb McDowell.

The Bearcats were up 38-0 before the halftime bell had rung.

Broadnax busted out for a 30-yard run to score the first touchdown of the game, capped off with a 2-point conversion by McDowell.

Running back Jvon Lee scored later in the first quarter and a 2-point conversion run from Broadnax made the score 16-0.

McDowell ran a 75-yard touchdown run and a 55-yard punt return to make the score 30-0 with 1:27 left in the half. A failed conversion by quarterback Quayde Hawkins and a 2-point conversion run from Broadnax added points to the board.

McDowell banged into the end zone for his third score of the afternoon on a 29-yard run, with a 2-point conversion from Hawkins, to make the score 38-0.

Broadnax scored Bainbridge’s final touchdown in the third quarter on a 71-yard run. Jackson McCullough couldn’t find the end zone for the 2-point conversion.
