Eloise Heard Spooner, age 88, of Iron City, Ga. passed away Saturday morning, August 13, 2016, at her residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Spooner were held on Monday, August 15, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, Ga. with  Rev. David Williams and Rev. Herman Enfinger officiating. Interment followed in Friendship Cemetery with Billy Gene Hand, Tony Lane, Eric Sekula, Ronnie Murkerson, Scott Hartzog, and Tyler Cox serving as active casketbearers.  Visitation was held on Sunday evening, August 14, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Spooner was born in Decatur County, Ga. on December 12, 1927, to Arthur Thomas Heard and Samantha Ezell Rich Heard.  She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Spooner Farms and Spooner Trucking.  She was a loving and caring individual who always put everybody else first.  Mrs. Spooner was always helping others and you never heard a negative word spoken against anyone.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Roger Spooner of Iron City; her sons, Dorsey Spooner and wife Wynne of Christiana, Tenn., Lewis Spooner and wife Annette of Iron City, Tommy Spooner and wife Diana of Iron City, David Spooner and wife Connie of Iron City, and Dennis Spooner and wife Sue of Iron City; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Spooner was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Thomas Heard and Samantha Ezell Rich Heard Lane; the man she knew as her father because her dad passed away when she was just a toddler, J.D. “Jake” Lane; and a sister, Linda Lane Pleasant.
