Nancy grew up in Bainbridge, Georgia.  She graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1965 and Georgia College of Milledgeville with a BS in Home Economics in 1969.  After graduation, she was briefly employed as a case worker by the State of Georgia/Department of Family and Children Services.  In 1970 she was employed by the University of Georgia System/Cooperative Extension Services as a Home Economist.  Always dedicated to helping others, she answered President Kennedy’s call to service in 1977 and joined the Peace Corps where she served in Jamaica as a nutritionist.  Upon her return to the United States, she was employed in apartment and supermarket management in Atlanta.

Retired due to on-the-job injuries in 2006, Nancy resided for a brief time in Acworth.  Then, in 2009, she relocated to Jasper, where her dedication to others continued: as a member of the Board of Directors for the Pickens County Tea Party, as a member of the Pickens County Republican Party and delegate to the 2013 Georgia State Republican Party Convention, and as a volunteer at the Pickens County Animal Shelter.

Plans for a memorial service are pending.  Nancy would have wanted to be remembered by donations to the Partners of Pickens Pets, Inc.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper, Georgia.
