She will be dearly missed by her family and a wide circle of friends. Judy is survived by her husband, Tracy Harrington; her brother, Alan Wade; her children, Matt, Luke (Margaret) and Megan (Brian); her grandchildren, Ben, Georgia, Paul and Jack; and eight nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Urcyl Wade; and her brother, Barry Wade.

Judy grew up in West Virginia and Virginia. She loved living in and learning about other cultures, and she traveled widely. After earning an undergraduate degree in French at Randolph Macon Woman’s College in 1965, Judy lived for six years in Africa with her family, teaching English at a Tanzanian secondary school in the late 1960’s and at the International School of Lusaka, Zambia in the late 1970’s. After earning a second degree in nursing at Murray State University in the early 1980’s, Judy launched a career she loved as a home health nurse, first in western Kentucky, then in southern Georgia. After retiring to Bainbridge, Georgia in 2005, Judy pursued her passions for cooking, travel, volunteer work, jigsaw puzzles, and Sudoku, while helping her husband turn their three-acre home into a virtual botanical garden. Judy’s commitment to her family was fierce and unwavering, and they will be forever shaped and blessed by her guidance and love.

A memorial service for Judy will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Tallahassee at 3 p.m. on Monday, August 22. All are welcome. Memorial donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee.

Judy’s family would like to thank the nursing staff and caretakers at St. Augustine Plantation and Big Bend Hospice for their attentive care.

Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home of Tallahassee is in charge of arrangements.
