Patricia Gail Wimberly was born September 3, 1953, in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of William Henry Wimberly and Vernie Ella Norris Wimberly. Patricia lived most of her life in Decatur County and was a member of The Potter’s House.

Patricia loved everybody. She was dubbed “The Best Mom” for raising a bunch of crazy girls and taking in kids that had nowhere else to go. Her home has been described as a revolving door. Patricia was a firefighter and when she wasn’t in turn out gear she sported her style in short dresses and go-go boots.

Survivors include her daughters, Tanya Alphord and Tammy Alphord Dollar and her husband, Justin, of Bainbridge; her siblings, Poshil Hand and her husband, Herman, Junior Wimberly, and Mary Ann Goodwin, all of Bainbridge; and her grandchildren, Reid Poitevint, Ryley Poitevint, Ella Dollar and Judson Dollar. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her brothers, Alvin Wimberly, Jerry Wimberly and Wallace Wimberly, and her granddaughter, Abigail Dollar.
