Donna Palmer Adams, 98, formerly of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away

The graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on

Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Oak City Cemetery with Rev.

Stephen Webb and David Lilliston officiating.

Donna Palmer was born December 27, 1917 in Pelham, Ga., the

daughter of John Council Palmer and Leola NeSmith Palmer.

Donna graduated from high school in Bradenton, Fla. and spent

many years working as a credit manager for Sears. She married

Richard Milan “Dick”Adams in July of 1939. Donna lived most

of her life in Bainbridge, moving to Athens five years ago. She

was of Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her daughters, Olivia Lilliston of Nicholson,

Ga., Gloria Bennett and her husband, Gene, also of Nicholson, and Kathy Whitaker and her husband, Joe, of Jacksonville,

Fla.; her grandchildren, David and Betsy Lilliston, Melissa and

Russell Britton, and Susan and Todd Helton; and her five

great-grandchildren, Adam, Anna, Drew, Ben and Will. In

addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her

husband, Dick Adams, and her siblings, Ruby Rich, Bessie

Dollar, Vera Harrell, Valda Collins, Gladys Boutwell, Woodrow

Palmer and J.E. Palmer.
