“Currently and throughout the years, I know that your club has been very supportive of the leader dog program, the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind near Waycross which is now under new leadership and doing very well, and the Georgia Lions Lighthouse for the Blind, which provides cornea transplants. You also provide cornea exams and glasses for your local citizens. You really live up to the Lions motto of ‘We Serve’.”

The district governor also praised the club for regularly sending local blind and visually impaired residents to the Lions Camp for the Blind. At camp, the counselors provide campers with the opportunities to do arts and crafts, ride horses, play games and just generally have a good time.

Cooper invited all of the Bainbridge Lions to come to the District 18-O convention Feb. 17-18 in Americus.

“We will have a great time at the District 18-O convention, and it will give you an opportunity to meet and talk with fellow Lions members from throughout the district.”
