A new car club in Bainbridge has plans to raise money and give back to people in need throughout Decatur County.

Memories Car Club, led by President Denise Webb, was founded on the question, “What can we do?”

The club is currently selling tickets for a drawing they will hold at the Downtown Street Dance next Friday, July 29, in conjunction with a vintage car show. Members of the club will be showing off their old vehicles, but Webb said anybody with a car they want to share can be a part of it by joining the club.

“It’s just amazing how everybody is reaching out to support our car club,” Webb said about the amount of people purchasing tickets for the drawing.

Prizes donated from sponsors will be given away, including tools, Yeti tumblers and restaurant gift certificates.

Sponsors for the car show and drawing are Decatur Auto Parts, Boyd’s BBQ, Stones Home Center, Kevin Dowdy and 101.9, Auto Zone, Advanced Auto Parts, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Angel Hair Beauty Shop and Bonnie Blue House.

Tickets can be purchased at LTL Flowers and Gifts downtown for $2 apiece.

The club doesn’t stop giving there. Tuesday, July 26, Memories Car Club will “Feed the Blue” and provide lunch for all local Bainbridge Public Safety, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol officers.

Sponsors like Winn Dixie, Griffin Appliances, Dominos and LTL Flowers and Gifts have put together a luncheon of Dominos pizza, free for all officers in uniform who come to the LTL Tuesday at 11 a.m.

“Just see what we’re doing now,” Webb said.

The Memories Car Club’s next meeting will be Tuesday, August 18 at 6 p.m. at LTL Flowers and Gifts.
