Mrs. Ruth Dawson Faircloth, age 89, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Bainbridge Heath and Rehab in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Faircloth will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2106, at New Life at Lake Seminole, 2164 Ga. Highway 253, Donalsonville, Georgia. Pastor Glenn Elmore will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mark Faircloth, Derrick Faircloth, Kyle Faircloth, Trey Faircloth, Brandon Faircloth and Cliff Mills will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home.
Ruth was born February 9, 1927, in Donalsonville, Georgia, to James Benjamin Dawson and Florence Parks Dawson. She married Arthur Lee Faircloth, who preceded her in death. Ruth was a seamstress. She worked many years at Jack Winters and then retired from Williamson-Dickies. Mrs. Faircloth was the surviving charter member of Reynoldsville Church of God (New Life of Lake Seminole). She was a devoted Christian lady. Ruth gave so much of herself to her church. The church fellowship hall was named in her honor. Ruth loved to spend time reading her Bible. She also loved flowers. Mrs. Faircloth never met a stranger. She loved to talk to anyone. Family, that was what drove Ruth Faircloth. She was dedicated to her family. Ruth Faircloth will be deeply missed by the family she loved so very much.
Ruth Dawson Faircloth is survived by her sons, Keith Faircloth and wife, Terri of Sylvester, Georgia, and Ronnie Faircloth of Dooly County, Georgia; her brother, Jimmy Dawson of Conyers, Georgia; grandchildren, Tonya Mills and husband, Cliff, Mark Faircloth and wife, Mandi, Derrick Faircloth and wife, Ansley, Kyle Faircloth and wife, Kayla, Trey Faircloth, Brandon Faircloth and wife, Elizabeth, Kyle Basko and wife, Karla, Adrienne Hobby and husband, Tracy, and Will Basko and wife, Holly; 20 great-grandchildren, and a host of special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee Faircloth, son, Robert David Faircloth and daughter, Elizabeth Ann Brock.
