Early voting for the Superior Court judge runoff between Heather Lanier and Ryan Cleveland will start Tuesday, July 5 in Decatur County. Registered voters can participate in early voting at either the Fairgrounds precinct or at the elections office in the courthouse annex. Early voting will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week Tuesday July 5 and the week of July 11. Early voting will also be open on Saturday, July 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The times will change to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the week of July 18.

“Out of the five counties that voted on the Superior Court race there was only 35 vote difference between Ryan and Heather,” Decatur County chief elections officer Carol Heard said. “To me that just shows every vote counts.”

The race is non-partisan meaning voters will not have to choose a ballot as in previous elections.
