Coach Brian McCorkle said the team learned a lot this summer, and new prospects for pitching, infield and the outfield have come to the forefront.

“We found a little bit of pitching, especially in our younger kids who can throw strikes,” McCorkle said. “We found some guys who can field the baseball. We got a couple young outfielders that have stood out and a couple infielders stood out. “

The summer also saw the older players reps, something that will help keep them fresh for when the season rolls around next February.

”The summer is crucial because basically what it does is sees which kids are going to compete and try to get the job done,” McCorkle said. It allows us to see our young kids and get our freshman acclimated to the way we are doing things.”
