Miss Thomas and Mr. Akins to wed in June

Amber Thomas, daughter of Sharlyn Smith of Attapulgus, Ga and Lawerence Thomas of Havana, Florida, is engaged to wed Leroy Akins III, son of Amanda Edwards of Attapulgus and Leroy Akins Jr. of Havana.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Carrie Bell Smith of Climax, Ga. and Robert Smith Sr. of Attapulgus.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of the late Alice and Leroy Akins Sr. and the late Homer and Carrie Murphy.

Miss Thomas is a 2012 graduate of Bainbridge High School. She is currently a certified nurse assistant and will continue her education in the fall. Mr Akins is a 2006 graduate of Bainbridge High School and is employed with the Bainbridge Public Safety Department.

The wedding is planned for June 18 at 3:30 p.m. at Second Morning Star Baptist Church in Attapulgus.
