After the ribbon cutting ceremony event, Bainbridge State College Office of Admissions held an open house to distribute information regarding enrollment, financial aid and other opportunities at the College.

Executive Director of Institutional Advancement, Lauren Harrell, was pleased with the Donalsonville’s support as the College was welcomed into the community.

In regards to the generous support of Seminole County, she said, “The proceeds from the Swing for Support Golf Tournament we hosted here last fall in celebration of the kick-off of the Center will greatly benefit the students who will attend the Donalsonville Education Center. It is a true testament of what is possible when a community pulls together.”

Shawn McGee, Interim President of BSC, added opening the doors to the Center will present much opportunity to the county and region’s students.

“As we open the doors to this new educational facility, we are opening the doors of opportunity to countless students who will grace its doors looking for a new challenge, a new career, a new way of life and a new pathway to success,” he said. “We are thankful for the City of Donalsonville welcoming us to their community to help better serve the educational needs, which will in return provide a well-prepared workforce for our region’s businesses and industries.”

Currently, classes are being offered for the summer and fall semesters. Hybrid classes, which is considered a mix of both online and in-class courses, are offered. Please see the BSC website for the full list of summer classes. Registration opened April 5.

Dr. Rodney Carr, Vice President for Academic & Student Affairs, shared his gratitude to Seminole County for giving Bainbridge State College the opportunity to branch out and make education even more assessable to the region.

He said, “Bainbridge State College is looking forward to working with the Donalsonville community to assist in preparing our students for success. This is a major milestone in the history of the College—and as soon as the doors open, we are eager and willing to help the students along their educational journey.”
