I’ve had enough already with all the bad news

There is a song from the musical “The Wiz,” whose title is “Don’t Nobody Bring me no Bad News.” The lyrics are by Diana Ross.

I am starting to feel like the character Evillene who sings the song in the show and am going to be singing the song for a while.

Considering all the raging wild fires, loss of life and property, tornadoes and floods, the craziness of the presidential primary races, the madness of dictators in foreign countries, we now have to deal with the loss of life of those we know and hold dear.

I just can’t take it anymore.

As the words in the second verse of the song go:

“If we’re going to be buddies

Better bone up on the rules,

Cause don’t nobody bring me no bad news.

You can be my best of friends, as opposed to payin’ dues,

But don’t nobody bring me no bad news.”

Chorus: No bad News, No Bad News. Don’t Nobody Bring Me No Bad News.

Instead take heed of the message in the last verse:

“Bring some message in your head.

Or in something you can’t lose,

But don’t you ever bring me no bad news.

If you’re gonna bring me something

Bring me something I can use

But don’t you bring me no bad news.”
