Perra Harrell and Jack McRae were named Female and Male athletes of the year at the 2016 Grace Christian Academy all sports banquet

Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars and Cougars varsity athletes were honored for their outstanding achievements at their annual awards banquet on May 9.

Lady Cougars cross country team honorees were Perra Harrell who won the fleet feet award, Harsimran Singh who won the most improved award, Lila Widner, who won the unsung hero award and Hannaah Holden who won the Christian character award.

Varsity boys cross country honorees were fleet feet award winner Gabe Parker, most improved award winner Caleb Carr, unsung hero award winner Blake Holley and Christian character award winner Brad Spooner.

Varsity girls volleyball honorees were All-region performer Kaitlyn Holcombe, Christian character award winner Pooja Patel, best defensive player award winner and All Region performer Sarah Castoro, All-region performer Lindsey Duke, best all-around and All-region performer Kelsey Harrell and most improved player Juliann Amaya.

Varsity girls basketball honorees were Christian character award winner and All-region performer Lindsey Duke, best all-around award winner and All-region, All-state and All-star team performer Perra Harrell, best offensive player and All-region performer Kelsey Harrell and best defensive player Addie Elkins.

Varsity boys basketball Christian character award winner was Dakota Vickers, co-most valuable players were Jack McRae and Noah Thomas, most improved player was Nate Walton and defensive player of the year Sam McRae.

The most encouraging competition cheerleading award went to Mikey Harrell, the most improved cheerleader award went to Kate McRae. The leadership cheerleading award went to Annabelle Smith, the most spirited cheerleading award went to McKenzie Brown, the Christian character cheerleading award and most spirited competition cheerleading award went to Haley Cooper, the leadership competition cheerleading award went to Hannah Holden and the Christian character competition cheerleading award went to Hallie Jordan.

Varsity dance Christian character award winner was Hannah Holden, their leadership award winner was Annabelle Smith, their most spirited award winner was Harley Cooper, their senior award winner was Haley Chandler and their rookie of the year was Ansley Stuart.

Varsity girls tennis honorees were Christian character award winner Annabelle Smith, love of the game honoree, Carley Godwin, spirit winner Juliann Amaya and battle to the end honoree Perra Harrell.

Varsity boys tennis honorees were most improved player Branch Austinson, love of the game honoree Ryan Holley, Christian character honoree Chasen Wood and spirit honoree Mason Duke.

Varsity baseball honors went to Michael Mills for dedication, John York for Christian character, Brad Spooner for love of the game, Lindsey Duke for leadership, Parker Gordon for All-region and Noah Thomas for versatility and All-region.

Varsity girls track honors went coaches award winner Carly Godwin, high point winner Perra Harrell and Christian character award winner Abby Bodrey.

Varsity boys track honors went to high point finisher Jack McRae, Christian character award winner Sam McRae, high point winner Gabe Parker and coaches Cougar award winner Dakota Vickers.

Varsity girls soccer honors went to McKenzie Brown for most improved defense, Sarah Castoro for most improved offense, Haley Chandler team spirit, Perra Harrell for All-region, Caroline Wells, Kate McRae and Emellia Woodrum for best attitude and Grace Reynolds for Christian character.
