Bainbridge High JROTC holds award banquet

The Bainbridge High School Air Force Junior ROTC Georgia unit 942 presented awards to outstanding cadets at their twenty-second annual awards program Thursday at the school auditorium.

Lieutenant Colonel Dave Stewart, the unit leader, said he is very proud of the drill meet honors his cadets won this year.

“At the Lowndes Titletown Invitational Meet in Valdosta, we finished first in armed regulation, second in unarmed inspection and third in color guard,” he said. “At our Bainbridge Drill Meet, we finished second in armed regulation, color guard and inspection and third in unarmed exhibition. At the Macon United States Air Force Nationals Deep South Region Championships we finished fourth in color guard and fifth in unarmed regulation and unarmed exhibition.”

Outstand cadet awards went to freshman Gage Kempton, sophomores Hayden Griffin and Rodrecuz Holland, juniors Mitchell Faircloth and Drew Floyd and seniors Quang Pham and Austin Sapp.

Most improved cadet awards went to freshman Ryan Smith, sophomore Rodrecuz Holland, junior Drew Floyd and senior Austin Sapp. Top performer awards went to freshman Taylor Mims, sophomore Quang Pham and senior Austin Sapp.

Fitness awards went to freshman Travis Richardson, sophomore Hayden Griffin, junior Perry Sweet and senior DeAndre Lewis.

The Air Commando Award went to Gage Taylor. The Daughters of 1812 went to Lillian Perez-Salas and the Celebrate Freedom Award went to Gage Taylor.

Tuskegee Airman Awards went to Khyla Donaldson and Curtis Watson. The Sons of Confederate Award went to Stefan Farmer. The United States National Society United States Daughters of 1812 award went to Liliana Perez-Salas and the celebrate freedom foundation award went to Gage Taylor. The retired enlisted association award went to Tylar Kelly and the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Award went to A. Gage Kempton.

The Oak Murdock Patriots Award named in honor and memory of a former outstanding cadet who lost his life in an accident went to Mitchell Faircloth.

The Air Force Association Award went to Preston Johnson, the Distinguished Air Force Junior ROTC Cadet Badge went to Mitchell Faircloth, the Daedalian Award went to Hayden Griffin, the American Legion Scholastic Award went to Quang Pham, the American Legion Military Excellence Award went to Austin Sapp and the Daughters of the American Revolution Award went to Taylor Mims who also won the Reserve Officers Association Award. Rodrecuz Holland received the American Veterans Award,

A. Noah Cofer won the Military Order of the World Wars Award, Mitchell Faircloth won the Military Officers Association of America Award, Celeste Gordon won the Veterans of Foreign Wars Award and Haydn Griffin won the National Sojourners Award.

The Sons of the American Revolution Award was won by J. Drew Floyd, The Scottish Rite Southern Jurisdiction Award was won by Selena Stubbs, the Military Order of the Purple Heart Award was won by Taylor Comer and the Air Force Sergeants Association Award was won by DeVonte Wardrick.
