A forum for candidates running in local elections will be Monday, May 16 at 6:00 p.m. at Greater Macedonia M.B, Church. The church is located at 1006 Holley St. in Bainbridge. The forum will allow residents of Decatur County to hear from the candidates running for in local races.

According to event organizer Glenda Battle, each candidate will be give five minutes to introduce himself or herself before a question and answer session. Battle said that audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions of the candidates and that she will also have a a list of prepared questions to ask.

Candidates that had confirmed that they will attended at press time were: Maggie Rentz Smith(Incumbent) and Dan Stone, Chief Magistrate; Mike Bankston, Ryan Cleveland and Heather Hendricks Lanier, Judge, Superior Court of South Georgia Judicial Circuit; Doug Griffin, County Commissioner, District 2; Mark Harrell,Tax Commissioner; Wiley Griffin (Incumbent), Sheriff; Cecilia Willis(Incumbent) and Revonn Miller, Clerk of Superior Court; Tommy “TC” Hill, State Representative, District 173 and Diane Vann, United States Representative, 2nd Congressional District.
