Dancers are in full swing for Bainbridge’s Dancing With the Stars

Six teams of local celebrity dancers will take to the Kirbo Center stage this Saturday evening to win your votes in the Bainbridge version of Dancing with the Stars.

The dancing competition begins at 7:30 p.m. and is sure to entertain as citizens team up with professionals to do the romantic waltz and the hot and saucy salsa. Emcees for the evening are Suzi Bonifay and Brent Loeffler.

The six dancing teams are: Blake Carruthers and Marjorie Mayfield, Landon Marzolf, D.C. and Haley Humphrey, Jay Palmer and Susan Livingston-Higdon, Shawn Surratt, M.D. and Leigh Powell, Garrett Smith and Stacey Cunningham and Wayne Lambert and Heather Fuller.

The event is sponsored by the Bainbridge Rotary Club and is their major fundraiser for the year. Proceeds are used to purchase Tele-Health system for the Decatur

County Schools.

You don’t need to wait to see the dancers to vote. You can support your favorite teams by online voting at www.dwtbs2016.myevent.com. Each dollar donated is one vote for your favorite team. The team who raises the most money online will be crowned the People’s Choice Award. Online voting continues until midnight April 29, 2016.

Each team will also have a collection vessel at the event for onsite voting. Bring your checks, coins and dollars to vote for your favorite team the night of the event for the On Site Fundraising award. Three judges will pick the Judges Choice Award.

A special reception for the sponsors will be held in the Solarium beginning at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $20 each and are available from the Edw. Jones office of Emily Yent, or at Burke, Worsham and Harrell. They will also be available at the door.
