Noble announces intention to run for Decatur County Coroner

Sonja T. Noble has announced that she is running for Decatur County Coroner. Noble graduated from Bainbridge High School before attending Albany State University where she received a Bachelors Degree.

Noble is the widow of Adolph Noble Sr., and she has one child and three grandchildren.

She has been in the funeral business for 15 years at Guyton Brothers Funeral Home and is a graduate of the Commonwealth Institute as a funeral director and embalmer.

“As coroner I intend to maintain respect, integrity and professionalism while making a difference in the community,” Noble said. “I want to mend the bridge between professional agencies and the corner’s office as well as the community and the coroner’s officer.”

Noble is an active member of the Bainbridge community where she serves as lead of Cub Scout troop 519, works with Kidz n Kops and is a member of the Progressive League. She is also an active member of Pilgrim Rest MB Church.

“I want to become a more proactive member of the community,” Nobles said. “Educating students of the dangers of texting and driving as well as addressing gang violence.”

She said as corner she will also work to help the family members of the recently deceased get through difficult time, make sure all legal documents are provided in a timely manner and ensure that there is an expedient response to every death call.

“I want [the community] to know they can call me at any time to help or just to talk,” Noble said. “I will respond in a timely manner, ensuring the privacy of our residents.”
