Jewell Addison Powell, 98, of Bainbridge, Ga. passed away Monday, April 4, 2016.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Elmore officiating. Interment will be at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Powell was born May 14, 1917 in Miller County, Ga., the daughter of Jim Henry Addison and Lillie Mae Haire Addison. She was an avid gardener and known for her love of flowers. Her favorite pastimes were fishing and quilting. Mrs. Powell had a quick wit and loved her front porch laughter sessions.

Survivors include her sons, Donnell Powell of Bainbridge, and Stephen Powell of Bainbridge; her daughters, Lajean Williamson and her husband, James, of Bainbridge, Linda Braswell of Donalsonville, Ga., Sandra Howell and her husband, Albert, of Columbus, Ga., Phyllis Lane of Bainbridge, and Sherry Boyette of TyTy, Ga.; her 24 grandchildren; her 35 great-grandchildren; and her 19 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband , R.A. Powell; her sons, Kenneth Powell, Douglas Powell, and Larry Powell; and her daughters, Annette Powell Knight and Elma Rae Faircloth; her brothers, Eddie Addison, Lamar Addison, Monroe Addison and Jack Addison.
