Anna Rosa Kidd Burke, 84, of Iron City, Ga, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church in Iron City, with Rev. James Miller officiating. Interment  followed at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Keith Medley, Charles Rathel, Tommy Lashley, Richard Spooner, Tommy Spooner, and Dennis Spooner serving as active pallbearers.

Mrs. Burke was born January 25, 1932 in Seminole County, Ga., the daughter of William Alonza Kidd and Mattie Lee Peters Kidd. She married Lloyd Earl Burke in 1964. Mrs. Burke retired from Decatur Seminole Training Center. She loved gardening, fishing, canning, and cooking for her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Donna Burke of Iron City, Janet Carter of Colquitt, Ga., Patricia Brown and her husband, Robin, of Lake Seminole, Ga, Sammy Hand and Ronda Kirkpatrick of Bainbridge, GA, and Billy Gene Hand and his wife, Ginger, of Iron City; and her sister, Lena Murray and her husband, Arch, of California; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Earl Burke; her son, Edward Burke; her siblings, Annie Lee Spooner, Willie (Boot) Kidd, Essie Johnson, Crockett Kidd, Clyde Whittaker, Jason (Less) Kidd, Thelma Clayton, Blonie Kidd, Kenneth Kidd and Geneva Ingram; and her son-in-law, Danny Carter.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and Seminole Manor Nursing Home for the loving and professional care they provided.
