Gloria Barrentine, 85, of Climax, Ga., passed away Friday, March 11, 2016.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dana Swain, Rev. Phillip Kirkland, and Rev. Scotty Herndon officiating. Joseph Kelly, Paul Kelly, Jack Bergbower, Lloyd Seals, Phillip Barrentine, and Tommy Haire will serve as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Gloria Jean Cohick was born May 5, 1930 in Salisbury, Pennsylvania, the daughter of George Cohick and Agnes Miller Cohick. She married Willie Jackson Barrentine in March 1959. Gloria was a member of Attapulgus Church of God.

Gloria was a homemaker and devoted her time to caring for her family and friends. She loved to tend; she tended to flowers, animals and people. She was a great cook and enjoyed sharing meals with others. Amongst her family and friends, she made famous the sayings, “How sweet it is” and “Hogwash”.

Survivors include her husband, Willie Barrentine of Climax, Ga.; her children, Darla Haire of Bainbridge, and Dennis Barrentine of Williamsport, Pa.; her sister, Wanda Brown of Lyndon, Pa.; her grandchildren, Lesley, Barry, Brittany, Danielle, Wynielle, and Phillip; and her great-grandchildren, Tera, Phillip, Daniel and Jaiden. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents.
