Westover tied the score in the 67th minute after being awarded a penalty kick.

The scoring play was set up by a handball by a Lady Bearcat defender in the penalty area. A Lady Patriot forward took the penalty kick shot at Bainbridge goalkeeper Summer Boyd, who momentarily made the save, but the ball deflected back to the shooter who quickly scored from six yards out.

Neither team could score again in regulation or overtime, resulting in a penalty kick shootout. In the shootout Boyd scored the lone goal for Bainbridge on their fourth penalty kick powering the shot to the left side.

Last Friday night at Centennial field the Bainbridge High School lady Bearcats varsity soccer team was defeated 2-0 by the visiting Berrien County High School Lady Rebels Soccer team. The Berrien goals came in the 13th minute following a direct free kick and in the 77th minute on a follow up to a corner kick.

Bainbridge is 2-3 on the season and 1-1 in region play. The Bearcats and Lady Bearcats are set to travel to Cairo Tuesday in a region Contest at 5:30 pm.
