Bainbridge senior Evan Oldaker signed a football scholarship to Miles College Friday amongst family, coaches and friends.

Oldaker will be the starting punter, and will also be competing to start as field goal kicker and kick offs. He will be training with Coach Brian Jackson of Dothan.

“The campus is nice,” Oldaker said. “It’s a nice little place, not too big, not too small. They’ve done pretty well the past few seasons, so I’m glad to be a part of that.”

His senior season as a Bearcat, Oldaker kicked for 2,256 yards on 44 kicks, with a record kick off of 70 yards.

He was also 15-of-18 on extra points and 2-of-2 on field goals, with a long of 33 yards.

“We are so proud,” Oldaker’s mom, Jenny, said.

Oldaker’s dad, Tom, added, “He really has done a vast majority of this on his own. Kicking on the off-season and going to the camps.”
