Brock is the son of Donald and Evelyn Brock. He graduated with honors from Bainbridge High School in 1978 and attended Bainbridge College before pursuing his career in agriculture. He and his family are long-time members of the Vada community.

“I want to help run the county as efficiently as possible with a balanced budget,” Brock said. “I would like to see the standard of living in the county improved. To do that, we are going to have to see about getting some more jobs. I think I can work with the commission that’s in place now.”

Brock is the owner and operator of Steve Brock Farms GP, and has been involved in agricultural activities for more than 33 years. Brock has served nine years on the Farm Service Agency committee and 10 years on Decatur County Gin Company’s Board of Directors. Brock has also been a dedicated supporter and volunteer for the Mount Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department for more than 30 years.

Brock and his wife, Sherry, have two grown children and three grandchildren.

The support and encouragement of Brock’s family, friends and neighbors influence his decision to run for office, he said.

“I have always been community-minded and willing to serve others when there is a need,” Brock said. “I am ready to commit my time and energy to serve the citizens of Decatur County and I feel that the time is right for me to run.”
