Perra Harrell led the Lady Cougars to a second place finish in the 3-AA region tournament

Coach Erwin Harrell’s Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars concluded their regular season Tuesday with a 31-29 victory over the Georgia Christian School Lady Generals in Valdosta. They clinched second place in the Georgia Independent Schools Association Region 3-AA

The Lady Cougars’ attack was led by Perra Harrell who had 20 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Kelsey Harrell scored five points, Kaitlyn Holcomb scored four points and Addie Elkins scored two points and pulled down eight rebounds.

“I could not be prouder of our team’s effort against Georgia Christian,” Coach Harrell said. “It wasn’t pretty, but to get a win on the road against the defending state champs was huge for the ladies.”

“In the first half we executed and got a nice nine point lead,” Harrell said. “In the second half we could not buy a basket. Thank goodness for Perra Harrell having a nice night with 20 points and a last second shot by Kelsey Harrell to get the win.”

The Lady Cats will play in the Region 3-AA Tournament Tuesday, Feb. 16, Thursday, Feb. 18, and Friday, Feb. 20, at Bainbridge State College.
