Lady Cats lose to Americus-Sumter, head to Region Tournament

The Bainbridge High School Lady Cats dropped a 68-30 basketball decision to the Americus-Sumter County High School Lady Panthers Friday in Americus.
The win gives the Lady Panthers the No. 1 seed in this week’s Region 1-AAAA Tournament that went underway Tuesday.
The Lady Cats took on the number seven see Thomas County Central High School Lady Yellow Jackets Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Nadia Marshall led the Lady Cats in their final regular season game against Americus-Sumter with 8 points. Rounding out the Lady Cats scoring column were Tyra Smart with 7, Alexis Russ with 5, Asia Gordon with 4, Rakia Hughes with 3, Amber Walters with 2 and Iyana Gibbs with 1.
Americus-Sumter initially came out on the court on fire and really took it to us,” Coach Kelvin Cochran said. “What we have to do now is regroup. We bounced back to pull even 10-10 at halftime.”
