Danny Barker signs football scholarship to North Dakota State College of Science
Former Bainbridge High School linebacker Danny Barker signed a scholarship to play football at North Dakota State College of Science Wednesday afternoon during a ceremony at the school.
“Its great,” Barker said about the school. “It ain’t that big but its got good facilities.”
North Dakota State College of Science is a member of the NJCAA and located in Fargo, ND. Barker will have the opportunity to play at NDSCS for two years and then transfer to a four-year college if he chooses.
“It’s a great opportunity,” Head Football Coach Jeff Littleton said. “I am excited for him to be able to continue playing football and have the opportunity to get a degree.”
Barker was joined at the ceremony by his family and friends who were all decked out in NDSCS t-shirts.
“I’m a little scared,” Barkers mom Samantha Smith said. “It’s a day away I already goggled it, but this is a great opportunity for him.”
Barker said that he is being brought in to play linebacker and that his goal is to start from day one.
