Rounding out the Saturday’s scoring column were Nadia Marshall with 15.

Asia Gordon, Alexis Russ and Tytianna Roseborough all scored 8 and Tyra Smart all scored 7.

“Friday night against Dougherty, we took control early and kept adding to our lead,” coach Cochran said. “I liked our scoring balance. Everybody contributed. Saturday night against Monroe, we built a solid first quarter lead then Monroe, who has the best post players in the Region, came back in the second to tie it up 20-20 late in the second quarter. Alexis Russ hit a long 3-pointer from beyond the head of the key to give us a 23-20 lead going to halftime. That was big because it gave us momentum entering the second half. I really liked the balanced scoring we had in both of our weekend games.”

The Lady Cats returned to action Tuesday when they host Albany’s Westover High School Lady Patriots in a Region 1-AAAA game. On Friday, they travel to Sylvester for a Region 1-AAAA game with the Worth County High School Lady Rams.
