Spend an evening with fellow animal lovers at the Firehouse Gallery Saturday night, Jan. 30, and lend your support for the building of a badly needed new shelter for the Bainbridge-Decatur Humane Society.

This is the second year of Art for Animals, the major fundraiser for the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society building fund; and committee members Ashley White, Dennie Nichols, Randee Eubanks and Sloane Kirbo couldn’t be more excited about the way things are coming together. “It will be even better than last year,” predicted Ashley.

So far this week, they are reporting 38 paid cash sponsors in addition to many items donated for the silent auction. They include: a pearl necklace from Godwin Jewelers, a fishing trip with Michael Conley, a massage package, a wine and dine package, Beach house vacation, an Italian Dinner prepared and served by the King of Pasta, Jim Gisandi, and several gift baskets from local merchants. In addition to displays of art work from local artists, Tallahassee artist Patty Manny will be there to do her unique dog portraits taken from photos of your pet. Local photographers are also offering photo-shoots with your favorite pet. Take a chance on winning one of the door prizes.

Background music from The Sounds of Erik and Tony will add a festive touch to the evening, as will the food and drink catered by Elizabeth and Me.

If you haven’t already purchased tickets, they will be available at the door for $35 each or $60 per couple.

The evening starts at 6 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m.
